This quote has stuck with me since I heard it for the first time in my early college years, and I believe it hits on a very important point. We are all created for more-more than we can even imagine. Every human person has been inherently given an incredible amount of God-given potential that, too often, goes untapped. Over the course of one’s life, it is up to each of us to discover and unlock this potential. I am excited to be a part of the mission and vision of an organization that seeks to unlock this potential by providing character formation for today’s youth. I’ve heard it said that it is not the number of successes that determines one’s fate in life, but rather, one’s character. Character formation lies at the heart of success. YLF provides the foundation for young minds of today to develop and understand the innate gifts each of them has and how to harness them to drive their future and become the leaders of their generation. What isn’t there to be excited about!? Seeing young minds and hearts set ablaze with passion and self-discovery invigorates me. I am passionate about being passionate, and working with youth. I believe my new role as Character Content Director will allow me to capitalize on my own God-given abilities.
I have worked with youth and vulnerable and diverse populations for the last ten years in varying capacities, predominantly in the non-profit sector. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to hone my own leadership skills through management and event coordination positions. My strengths include providing organizational leadership, developing therapeutic relationships, and helping others find their passion and mission. With a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and the current pursuit of a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I look forward to putting my skills to use and being a part of the YLF community!
